My mission is to be a voice of reason and help others see that we can navigate our mashed-up world more effectively by valuing communication, compassion, community and environmental concern in all of our endeavors. In other words, I aim to guide others to behave with kindness and tolerance towards all people. Simple, eh!
I believe that manners matter – not for the sake of following rigid rules – but because good manners guide us to behave in ways that make us feel confident and others feel comfortable. And when others are comfortable, so are we.
I believe that truly good manners stem from being kind to others, being compassionate about their perspectives, and being tolerant of how they might differ from us.
I believe the rules are not what matter; rather, the results of how we act matter. I value the feelings of others.
I believe that good manners create the tolerance that smoothes out the rough patches in day to day life, and helps build a society where people feel heard, considered and respected.
I believe intolerance has no place in our mashed-up world.
I believe that personal growth in improving communication and social skills costs nothing and is one of the best values in life.
I believe that the philosophy of my business, Global Manners, transcends etiquette rules and guides us in navigating cultures by understanding that kindness and compassion are basic to civil society. It’s just Global Manners.
